Praise and Worship in the traditional black church has taken on many forms. Most are led by a praise and worship team which stands before the congregation and leads them in songs. This helps to set the atmosphere and usher in the Holy Spirit. Once the Holy Spirit arrives, He affects people in different ways, some raise their hands as a sign of agreement and surrender, some sit quietly with their eyes closed and silently meditate on God goodness, some praise God by doing what in known as a “Holy Dance’ or a “Foot Praise” and others simply bow down or lay prostrate before the Lord in humble adoration. But whatever way you choose to worship, know this….YOU CAN PRAISE WITHOUT WORSHIPING, BUT YOU CAN NOT WORSHIP WITHOUT PRAISING!!!
